Castration/Neuter (Orchiectomy)
Health Tips

General Information: Castration is the surgical removal of the testicles. Such surgery is performed to eliminate sexual activities and render the dog sterile. Castration usually (but not always) reduces a dog's tendency to roam and fight. The general level of aggression may also be reduced. However castration is not replacement for obedience training by the owner!
Home Care: **Please keep your pet calm for the next week so he does not rupture internal sutures and require additional surgery.**
Offer a small amount of water and food at first and SLOWLY. We do not want any vomiting because he ate too much too quickly!
Feed small amounts of his regular food throughout the evening. Do not feed him anything he is not accustomed to eating.
Neroour pet may not eat tonight. It is common for an animal not to eat the day of surgery.
Begin Normal Feeding Tomorrow

Restrict Nero's activities for ten days after surgery.
