Interns & Volunteers

We have been lucky enough to have some of the best interns and volunteers at our facility and we want to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about each of them…

Kristen

Kristen is a junior at Pitt majoring in biology and minoring in chemistry and religious studies.  She has wanted to become a veterinarian since 3rd grade and plans on applying to vet school in the fall.  She has lived in the Pittsburgh region all of her life and loves all things black and gold, especially the Steelers. Her other interests include playing sports, being outdoors, listening to music, and traveling.

ying

Ying is a third year student at Pitt, majoring in Biology and minoring in Studio Art.  She moved to the U.S. from China four years ago and started volunteering at EEVMC in December of 2009.

With a dream of taking care of all animals from birds to lions, she plans to go to a veterinary school after graduation.  Her interests include animals, the outdoors and philosophy.

Hi!  My name is Logan and I am an intern here at EEVMC.  I am a graduate of Winchester Thurston School ‘07 and currently a Junior at Brandeis University in Boston.  I am majoring in Biology and Business and I look forward to attending a veterinary school in the near future.

I have 2 slobbery New Foundlands, Baylee and Higgins, and 3 cats named Danzey, Zoey, and Louie.  In my spare time I like juggling, shopping for shoes, and riding my bike around.

Update:  Logan has completed his summer internship with us and is back at Brandeis University.

Deepali is currently helping us out as a veterinary technician.  She is a licensed veterinarian in India and is currently taking her exams to be able to practice in the U.S.

She enjoys spending time with her husband Abhi and her kitty Bella, dancing, and causing trouble whenever she can.

Update:  Deepali is no longer volunteering with us.  She was a huge asset to our practice and anyone that gets to work with her will be very lucky.  We wish her the best of luck!!!
